37-year-old, self-taught Spanish photographer Andrés Gámiz turned his lifelong passion for photography into a full time career only in the last five years. Photography became for him a way of expression as well as a new way of seeing his surrounding. Digital photography and processing allows Gamiz to further emphasise the ideas behind his images.
“My images unveil the relationship between the person as a unique and individual entity and the coldness of the urban environment that surrounds him, where loneliness and isolation are predominant.
I like to contrast both the physical and the emotional aspects of a scene, as people appear as a part of the scenery playing with urban scenes in which lines and geometric elements also become protagonists.”
