ABOUT

After her graduation in Visual Arts from the EESAB in France in 2007, French artist Gaëlle Gestin continued her work on the border between photography, drawing and painting. Close to one when she devotes herself to the other as she remains fascinated by their complementarity.

In her work, she explores moving image and gesture and her photographs always resemble painting. She likes to create new stories: working in series to create a sequence and photographing deserted places while constantly drawing human faces in it. Through everyday image, Gaëlle Gestin tends with delicacy to reconcile both.

The apparent banality of daily life is often the starting point for her work. In these moments which seem unimportant at first glance, she tries to capture a mood, a moment of life, a portrait.
