Neutral GroundsThomas Robson
Digital Art Print
'Neutral Grounds' is part of Thomas Robson' series Fluid Pigments that combines past and present and inserts the classic painting into the contemporary world through the use and manipulation of physical oil and acrylic paints.
According to Robson, 'this combination of random unstructured raw pigments in combination with their physical textures created a striking visual short circuit disrupting the context, form and composition of the original pictures. It offers a compelling interplays between the residual associations of the original pictures and the dissonances of the imposed visual collisions.' His work directly addresses ideas of appropriation, inspiration, and originality, as well as reflecting our current visually saturated culture.
