CleopatraSchweiger & Shvadron
Mixed Media Art Print
'Cleopatra' is part of Roy Schweiger & Hagai Shvadron’series ‘Hair Stream’ which focuses on the visual representation of the conflict between reality and beauty perceptions. The series which combines Schweiger & Shvadron’s talents and personality, reflects on women’s complex identity and its relation to body and soul.
Once both artists completed their interpretation of the image, the two pieces were brought together, creating a mirror image of photography and drawing. The result is both aesthetic and thought-provoking.
“The juxtaposition of Hagai’s drawing changes Schweiger’s original composition, creating “a sort of triangle between the real woman in the photograph, her representation influenced by lighting and styling and the drawing which brings out her true ideals and desires”, says Shvadron.
Schweiger & Shvadron
Digital art and high fashion have converged in remarkable compositions, as a result of the cooperation between artist Hagai Shvadron and Fashion photographer Roy Schweiger.
Israeli artist and designer Hagai Shavdron integrates different techniques and materials in his work and has developed a very distinctive light etching technique of ‘streams of lights’. Shvadron’s color drawing are made of arcs of light created in free hand movement and digitally recorded.
Based in New York and Milan, beauty and fashion photographer Roy Schweiger has worked for many well-known fashion houses: Trussardi, Gaetano Navarra, Gianfranco Ferre, Neil Barrett, Carlo Pignatelli and Les Hommes and has been working for Dsquared2 since 2007.
The artistic duo share a mutual interest in the female figure and both were drawn to the Italian aesthetics through their formative years in Milan, before embarking on their first creative collaboration with the ‘Hair Stream’ series.
